Fourth of July Freebie

Happy 4th of July! Here’s a freebie printable 4th of July premade digital scrapbooking layout in a red, white, and blue patriotic theme just for you. This 4th of July scrapbooking layout was designed in honor of our dear friend, the late Alan Horton, who was a veteran of the U.S. Marines. Alan lost his life when he was only 40 years old after contracting a virus overseas during Operation Enduring Freedom. The virus ravaged Alan’s heart, and he celebrated his final 4th of July seven years ago. I will always remember watching Alan struggling to pull himself out of his chair to stand and place his hand over his steadily weakening, but proud heart, as the Marines’ Hymn blared over the speakers and fireworks burst into life on July 4th, 2004. Semper Fi, my friend. As a special treat for you, I am also including a flag themed, shabby, red, white and blue stars and stripes scrapbooking alpha letter set in both upper and lower case. There are two transparent .png files included in the downloadable zip folder. Simply drag a selection tool around any letter and copy it to a new layer in your graphics software. The 12 X 12 300dpi (printable) quick page layout includes blue textured paper, red and white striped textured, shabby curved border paper, stars and stripes curved border paper, silver glitter stars, layers of glittered border, three photo frames, an eagle holding a furled American flag, and the word, “American” in red, white, and blue on the left side, stitched to the paper. This 12X12 quick page can be reduced to an 8X8 or 6X6 scrapbooking layout, or any size you wish. If your graphics program allows you to choose the resampling method, select “bicubic sharper,” which is preferable for preserving details when reducing images. I hope you all have a happy 4th of July. If you treasure your freedom as an American, remember to thank a veteran.
